I also say the same thing every year (this year we are in a new theater):'Good afternoon and welcome to the Tappincait School of Dances #th annual spring recital. We are very excited to be performing in the beautiful Palace Theater! Please take a moment to locate the fire exits to the right and left of the stage and in the rear of the auditorium.A few reminders before we begin:Food and drink is not allowed in the auditorium and flash photography is prohibited for the safety of the dancers. Per fire code, the aisles and stairways must be kept clear at all times. If you must leave your seat during the show, we ask that you enter and exit in between dances.At this time, please silence your cell phones and without further ado, we proudly present, Name of Show.
(curtain rises and music starts!). I love the movie one! What a great idea. I also learned with real characters (mickey and minnie) that we went out in the audience before show time to introduce ourselves to the kids. That worked so well!I also love the idea of pointing out that the kids are not pros. I usually say something to the effect that the dancers have worked extremely hard to entertain the families today so please give them your cheers and your laughter.
